Who is Jesus as Truth?

​

Well, the Bible says—

and in my life I believe Him to be Truth—

that Jesus was with God in the very beginning, and

He was the Word that was with God and was God

(John 1:1).

 

And that Word tells us that Jesus became flesh and dwelt among us.

​

What Did Jesus Do for Us?

​

The Bible also tells us that Jesus is the Truth, and

in my life I also believe Jesus to be true.

​

You see, Jesus is more than just a Savior to me—

oh yes, I thank God for the mercy He had on this human in me!

​

But I also thank God for sending us Jesus.

And I thank Jesus for enduring His purpose all the way to the end of the beginning,

where He went to the cross to die and be resurrected for us.

​​

What Was in the Cup?

​

There was a moment when Jesus prayed

and asked the Father if there was another way.

​

The Bible says He asked for the cup to pass from Him.

​

But what was in the cup?

​

It wasn’t just suffering.

It was the weight of our sin.
It was the judgment we deserved.

 

It was the wrath of the Almighty God in the cup!

It was the wrath of a holy God against everything that separates us from Him.

Jesus drank that cup… for us.

​

So that we would not have to.

So that we could be forgiven.
So that we could be made new.
So that we could come near to God without fear.

​

That is who Jesus is.

​

​

There was no other reason to go through the death, burial, and

resurrection but to come and save us from ourselves.

​​

​

Why Did Jesus Come?

(Save us from ourselves)

​

Who are we is another question.

​

Selfish by nature—

I thank God for setting me free from me!

 

The thoughts that could consume me,

the emotions that want to destroy me—

my own self.

 

I thank Jesus for protecting me from myself.

​

And my friend, have you thought about you too?

​

The same God who loves messed up people like me

is the same God who knew

Jesus was the only one qualified.

​

Who is Jesus to Me?

​

He is the Qualifier when we couldn’t be.

​

And there is more.

Jesus is alive!

​

Praise be to our God, who even sends His Spirit to live in us when we believe.

​​

Jesus Offers Life Every Day!

​

He is the Giver of life.

​

And Jesus asked the Father to send us the Comforter.

Have you ever wondered why Jesus would call the Holy Spirit the Comforter?

​

Jesus Is Our Overcomer!

​

He is also an overcomer.

​

Jesus overcame all temptation, spent His time praying, teaching, and

demonstrating who God is.

 

And the same Spirit of God who lived in Jesus also lives in you and me too—

when we surrender to know God is God, and not only love Jesus, but also respect who God is.

​

Jesus Is The Way

​

The Bible says—and in my life I believe it to be true—

that Jesus is the way.

​

The way to life.

​

The way to know God—

not just know about God, but to really know Him on a personal level.

​

Like when I saw the ginormous moon hovering over the water tonight—

I know God did that.

​

​

Jesus helps me see.

​

​

For example, all Jesus did and talked about was to get us to see,

so that we could understand that if we could believe, we too could

do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

​

Jesus Is The Life

​

The Bible says—and my life believes it to be true—that Jesus is also the life.

 

The unity with God.

 

The glue that holds us close to God,

just as the moon is held close to us at night.

​

Sure, like the moon, we don’t always see Jesus—

but we can know He is always there with us.

​

What we believe makes the difference in what we see.

​

And the more we look to see God in the face of Jesus Christ,

the more God lets us see of His glory, honor, and grace.

​

He not only shows up—

He is already there.

 

We just don’t always know how to see Him.

​

That’s why God did another great thing by sending Jesus.

 

He gave us a Helper and a Comforter,

if we will just turn our eyes off of self toward the face of God

and thank Him for all He has done from the very beginning.

​

Jesus is more than a man who was nailed to a cross.

​

Jesus was a man who knew God and prayed.

​

Jesus talked to the Father and knew God always heard His prayers—

and even His heart.

​

Jesus knew the Father’s love for the world,

and that’s why Jesus came to rise again.

​

Who is Jesus as a man, as The Savior and as The Lord?

​

Jesus is Savior and Lord.

​

And Jesus, being the King over all of creation,

is a humble man to be our friend.

​

Who is Jesus as a man?

A brother who grafted us into the family of God.

 

Who is Jesus as Lord?

The man who is seated at the right hand of the Father—

and is not afraid of war.

​

Who is Jesus as My Victory?

​

Jesus is my victory every time I overcome human stalemates and

experience what it feels like to be delivered and

set free from my own self.

​

Think about that.

​

Jesus protects me and saves me

from myself, and I have the victory

because I give Jesus my life—because Jesus is the only true life.

​

​

Jesus is kind, compassionate, and full of mercy, grace, and truth.

​

Who Is Jesus Today? (Life, Presence, Peace, Power)

​

His name comes with power.

​

And when we come to know and believe in the love God has for us,

we get to decide to abide with Jesus in every detail of our life—

and experience God abiding in us.

​

Jesus Still Speaks​

​

He is the voice who guides me into all truth and

shows me things to come.

 

And as the written Word of God says in John 16:13,

He speaks what He hears the Father say.

​

Jesus IS That Voice

​

A good communicator.

​

And although many times Jesus is silent,

I know He is with us through the tests.

​

So who is Jesus as the One who Came

​

To you, and to me, and to the whole world—

Jesus is the One God sent.

​

Jesus is the One who came because God so loved the world.

 

And as John 3:16 says—and don’t forget John 3:17—Jesus came

so no one would be without excuse to know God doesn’t want anyone to perish.

​

Why Did Jesus Have to come?

​

Jesus is the purpose of God—

that we might have life eternal with Him and

live with Him forever and ever. Amen.

​

​

So tonight, my friend, we have a decision to make for ourselves—

to believe and choose life.

And the Bible even says—and my life believes it to be true—to choose blessing.

 

Jesus Is our Blessing to Believe & Receive!

​

Jesus is a blessing to the world.

​

A blessing is a gift from God to be received with praise and thanksgiving.

​

My friend, I will start by thanking Jesus you are here tonight.

And I encourage you to talk to Jesus and know that He hears you.

​

One more thing, of a million more things about who Jesus is—

​

Jesus is patience,
Jesus is peace,
and maybe even time as we know it today.

​

Today you have a grand opportunity to go on a lifelong journey getting to know Jesus

as both your personal Savior and Lord.

​

Won’t you thank Jesus tonight for being so close?

​

One more thing about who Jesus is—

Jesus is peace.

​

That supernatural peace you are experiencing right now—

That is who Jesus is.

​

​

A Decision to Make

​

So now, my friend…
what will you do with Jesus?

​

You’ve read about who He is.
You’ve seen what He has done.
You’ve seen what He carried… and the price He paid.

But this is not just something to read.

This is something to respond to.

Because Jesus didn’t just come for the world—
He came for you.

Come to Jesus

​

You don’t have to have everything figured out.

You don’t have to clean yourself up first.

You just have to come.

You can talk to Him right now, right where you are.

You can simply say:

​

Jesus,

I believe You are who You say You are.
I believe You died for me.
I believe You rose again.

Forgive me.
Change me.
Help me to know You.

I give You my life.
Teach me how to walk with You.

Amen.

​

​

You are not alone.

Jesus is near.

He will help you see.
He will guide you into truth.

​

Keep talking to Him.
Keep seeking Him.

​

This is just the beginning.
