What Is This Love — Who Is Love

I didn’t know God was love.

God’s love revealed through Jesus Christ symbolized by a simple personal encounter
before-i-knew-his-love

John 15:13 (KJV)
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

OPENING SECTION of the Love page
👉 It comes before Barabbas / John 15:13 teaching

It began with an encounter…
then came understanding

Before I Understood Love

  • “I believed in God…”

  • “powerful force…”

I didn’t know God was love.

I believed in God—
but more as a powerful force
that I didn’t understand.

When God Began to Reveal Himself

  • “it was beautiful…”

  • difficult season

However… when the Lord first began
to reveal who He is to me—

it was beautiful.

And it came
at a very difficult time
for me and my family.

From Fear to Life

  • fear of death

  • John 17:3

  • “I wasn’t scared anymore”

   This is a turning point

You see… as a child,
and even as an adult—

I didn’t understand death.

I was afraid of death.

But once God showed me life…

I wasn’t scared anymore.

The Moment Everything Changed

  • call about my dad

  • Holy Spirit speaking

  • beginning of journey

John 17:3 (KJV)
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

It was a process.

A real process of growth.

And I have been growing in my faith
every day since that day.

I used to say—
and I meant it from the depths of my heart:

“I couldn’t handle it
if anything ever happened
to my mom or my dad.”

And then…

my worst fear faced me.

I got that call.

And before I even knew
the Holy Spirit by name—

He told me it was my dad.

That began a journey.

Over a decade of processing salvation
in my heart.

Learning to trust God
more than my emotions—

which desperately wanted
to control me.

And this, my friend…

is where it began.

The Day I Saw His Love

  • clover story

  • prayer moment

  • Romans 5:5

That day—
looking for four-leaf clovers.

I prayed.

And when I opened my eyes—

it was there.

A four-leaf clover
that was not there before.

Standing strong—perfect.

That was the moment I realized—

God is not just powerful… God is love

And in that moment…

His love fell over me.

Romans 5:5 (KJV)
“…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost…”

His love melted into my heart—and I believed.

What I Learned About God’s Love

  • “pure and perfect”

  • 1 John 4:8

That was the day I learned:

I can trust God.

Because He taught me how to trust Him.

It was a miracle.

And this is what I first learned:

God’s love is both
pure
and perfect.

How This Ministry Began

  • “How do I tell a million people…”

  • Hope in Today

1 John 4:8 (KJV)
“…God is love.”

Oh… we can say so much about this.

Because God is love
is the foundation of this ministry.

Every good and perfect thing
that has come to pass—

before, during,
and ever since that day—

could never fit on this page.

But as the Lord leads,
I am placing these life lessons here…

in the ministry
God named:

Hope in Today

Because I asked Him—

“How do I tell a million people
what I know about Jesus?”

And He gave me the name.

Before I even knew
what a ministry was.

And after all of this—

I prayed:

“God… just tell me what to do.”

When God Corrected Me

  • “You are not ready yet…”

  • Bible moment

And I still smile…

because I thought I was ready.

Ready to go.

Ready to do something big.

But do you know
how God answered me?

He said:

“You are not ready yet.
You haven’t even read My Bible.”

And He was right.

I respected the Bible.

I dusted it.

I scanned pages
I couldn’t understand.

But the next day—

something changed.

When the Word Became Alive

  • Hebrews 4:12

  • “The Bible was written for me”

When I picked it up
and asked God
what He wanted me to learn—

everything became different.

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful…”

I began to understand:

The Bible was written for me.

And I began to see my heart
through the eyes of God.

Learning to Love Like God

  • loving others

  • transformation

  • 1 John 4:16

And that’s when I started
taking steps…

to love people
as God had first loved me.

Even as I write this…

I see it more clearly.

Knowing and believing
the love God has for us—

is the root

of being able
and willing
to love others.

1 John 4:16 (KJV)
“And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us…”

This has become my life verse.

And I hope this encourages you
to know His love for you too.

What Happens When You Believe His Love

  • expectancy

  • thanking Him

  • growth

All I did…

was look for His love
with expectancy.

And thank Him
every time I saw it.

And then—

God did the rest.

And now…

He is working patience in my heart.

Peace That Comes From His Love

  • peace becoming stable

  • Philippians 4:7

And now…

He is working patience in my heart.

In a way where the peace of Jesus
has become a staple in me.

And a direction for my soul —

to follow Him
in all that I do.

Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
“And the peace of God… shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

God is love

And this leads us to the next question…

👉 What is this Love?
Or rather…

👉 Who is Love?

How much did God love us?

Well my friend… the Bible says:

John 3:16 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…”

He gave.

God loved you so much
that He gave His Son—

so that none should perish,
but have everlasting life.

This is not just love we talk about.

This is love that gives.
This is love that acts.
This is love that lays down.

John 15:13 (KJV)
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

Jesus didn’t just say He loved us.

He showed it.

He took our place.

Barabbas was guilty.
Jesus was innocent.

And Jesus took his place.

Matthew 27:26 (KJV)
“Then released he Barabbas… and delivered Jesus… to be crucified.”

The guilty was set free.
The innocent took the punishment.

And this is not just his story.

This is ours.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)
“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin…”

He took what was ours—
so we could receive what is His.

This is love.

Not a feeling.
Not a word we say.

But something He did.

Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

While we were still sinners…

He loved us.

And now we have a choice.

Will we receive that love?
Will we believe Him?
Will we follow Him?

Because love…
leads us somewhere.

Back to the Father.

And when we receive this love…
we begin to understand
everything that came before it.

love-took-my-place

“He didn’t just do this… He did this for me.”

My newest teaching video is now live on YouTube.

It’s raw, it’s real — and it’s prayerfully meant for someone God has on His heart today.

As I shared this new teaching, I was reminded of something the Lord has shown me over time: faith grows, but it remains the same faith.

The Freedoms in Christ: How Jesus Sets the Soul Free series reflects my current season of teaching — but along the way, the Lord gently led me to include two earlier videos created before this website ever existed.

One was recorded in 2015–2016, when I was first stepping out in faith, simply obeying and learning to trust God, day by day.

The other was shared a few years ago, during a season when the Lord was healing me and freeing me from pain that tried to turn loneliness into bondage.

Looking back, I see now: they were never separate stories — they were part of the same journey of faith, growth, and freedom in Christ.

Just like the parable Jesus shared:

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”
— Luke 15:8

Nothing God works through is ever lost — sometimes it’s simply waiting for the right time to be seen again.

Maybe you feel that way too: overlooked, out of season, or unsure where you belong.

But hear this:
You are not lost to God.
And if you seek Him, you will find Him.
