Learning Acceptance, Obedience, and Trusting God for Provision

God has already placed what we need—before we even ask.
This is about trusting God’s provision, even when we don’t yet see the way.
📖 Main Scripture
“Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.” — Matthew 17:27
✨ Devotion
I know this devotion was about “what is that tax”
Jesus teaches us He too had to pay.
And the coin that God provided.
It was more about obedience and trusting God for provision.
And today—
we pay taxes that… well—
we too might be tempted to say are unjust.
But Jesus is teaching us a relationship with the Father—
not about religious things.
This is pretty huge what I just heard Him say to me as I type this.
And the word acceptance falls perfectly in this.
Because accepting things that are not our responsibility—
and depending on the Lord for His help—
is where we see the miracles happen.
These too are things we have opportunities to live out every day with our Lord Jesus.
But if we fight it…
that is where the inner struggle is.
When we say
,“Yes Lord, I can do that,”
that is where the inner struggle is met and overcome through Christ who
gives us strength and replaces peace for our torment.
This is a place of walking with God—
depending on Him to love us
.
And we are here to encourage you:
In spite of all you have done—or not done—to walk away from our God,
He still loves you.
And He is still providing for you—whether you pause to accept that or not.
But when acceptance comes…
obedience follows.
And this, my friend,
is where we begin to see the abundance.
The coin was enough
to pay for your tax
and mine.
Glory to God
and thank You, Jesus.
This is written for us
to know
and live in today.
💛 Truth to Hold
God is for you.
God is with you.
And by grace and faith—day by day—
we can come to know and believe in His voice.
We still can hear Jesus
directing us within our belly
day by day.
Spend more time praying.

“Learning to Listen — The Walkie Talkie Story”

And remember to take your finger off the button if you are using a walkie talkie!
A story goes—
I was following my husband as we were moving to North Carolina.
I knew we were going south,
but I didn’t know how to get to North Carolina.
But my husband did.
All I was doing
was following the taillights
in his red pickup truck.
This worked well until
he got through the green light…but I got stopped at the red.
And there was a bridge just beyond that right turn
with a sign — South.
I panicked
and headed southwith the button mashed down on my walkie talkie
telling him my location
and kept talking—asking him:
“Where are you?”“
Why don’t you answer me?”
When he found me, he said:
“How in the world did you get all the way up here?”
You see…I kept thinking I could get un-lost
and find my way back to Robert
if I just turned around
and headed back the same way.
It’s like this with our relationship with God too.
We found each other
by a common phone call.
I called my mom
and gave her the phone number
at the gas station I stopped at.
And they were happy to help me
by answering the phone
when Robert called
to get directions to find me.
I couldn’t find my way back to him…
but he found me.
We both called a common phone line ...
He also called my mom and she had to number to reach me.
Jesus is that land line connection that we have been given by God.
Glory be to God—this is good,
and this is the time to tell this story.
Robert was parked
right on the other side of that bridge.
If I had only gone straight…
He was waiting on me.
But I turned right
and headed the wrong way following the sign,
just becaue it said South.
My friend,
we don't follow signs and wonders.
We follow Righteousness and
signs and wonders do follow righteousness.
Righteousness is following the only One Who Qualified: His
Name is Jesus.
Just as Robert couldn’t tell me where I was…
because I didn’t lift my finger off the button.
My husband wasn't lost, I was.
Walkie talkies work that way.
We have to release the button
to hear what they have to say
by pressing theirs.
And there is a distance
we can drive out of reach.
This is a picture in human terms.
But with God—
He is nearer than any distance can separate.
✨ Reflection
I hope this encourages you
to believe
and believe again and again—
no matter what challenges you will face.
Jesus is nearer than any walkie talkie.
He sees you.
He knows how to find you.
Will you just slow down to be found?
🙏 Prayer
Lord,
teach me to trust You.
Teach me to accept what You allow
and depend on You in all things.
Help me stop striving
and start listening.
Show me how to walk with You
step by step.
And when I lose my way—
remind me that You already know where I am.
Thank You for finding me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
