This is where it began for me.
God showed me something in me
that didn’t line up with who He is.
That was wisdom.

Scripture:
“And unto man he said,
Behold,
the fear of the Lord,
that is wisdom;
and to depart from evil
is understanding.”
— Job 28:28
Wisdom does not begin with age, education, or experience—
it begins with God.
Job shows us that
wisdom is rooted in the fear of the Lord:
a reverent awe that recognizes who God is
and who we are not.
The world teaches us to chase knowledge for power or success,
but true wisdom is about relationship.
To fear the Lord is to honor Him above all else,
to trust His ways even when they go against our understanding,
and to turn away from what is evil because we love Him.
Every step of wisdom begins here:
humility before God.
This is the foundation for everything that follows.
Without the fear of the Lord, all other wisdom will eventually crumble.
But with it, we walk on solid ground.
Reflection
Do I truly honor God above my own understanding?
Is there anything in my life I am holding onto that
I know I need to turn away from?
Prayer
Lord, teach me the fear of the Lord.
Give me a heart that honors You above all things
and the courage to turn away from what is not from You.
Let my life be rooted in Your wisdom
and guided by Your truth.
