Day 2 – How Do You Spell Relief?
Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.

A Heart Moment
I had to learn the difference
between what feels like relief
and what comes from God.
Only His wisdom brings peace that lasts.

Scripture:
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure,
then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated,
full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and
without hypocrisy.”
— James 3:17
The world spells relief in many ways:
escape, distraction, or self-gratification.
But these only bring temporary comfort.
God’s wisdom brings something deeper—
peace.
Heaven’s wisdom looks different.
It is pure—
not corrupted by selfish motives.
It is peaceable—
not stirring up strife.
It is gentle and full of mercy,
bearing good fruit that lasts.
This wisdom does not leave us restless.
It settles the soul,
because it is rooted in God Himself.
When life feels overwhelming, ask:
Am I seeking relief in my own way,
or am I seeking wisdom from above?
The difference is lasting peace.
Reflection
Where have I been turning for relief lately?
Is it bringing me peace—or just distraction?
Prayer
Father, help me recognize the things I turn to that do not truly bring peace.
Fill me with Your wisdom that is pure and peaceable.
Let my life bear fruit that reflects Your mercy and Your truth.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
