A heart of stone can’t feel, respond, or heal…but God promises something new.
“A new heart also will I give you…” – Ezekiel 36:26
Stones under my feet. A heart of flesh within me. The Spirit of God leading me. ❤️
🌿 A New Heart — What Does “Heart of Flesh” Mean?
Ezekiel 36:26
This morning, I found myself looking down at my finger…
The blood running through it…Standing on gravel beneath my feet…
And this verse came alive in a way I hadn’t seen before:
“A new heart also will I give you…” — Ezekiel 36:26
❤️ What does “heart of flesh” mean?
At first, it almost sounds confusing.
Because we’ve learned that “flesh” often opposes the Spirit.
But this is different.
This is not sinful flesh.
This is living flesh.
A stony heart is:
hard
guarded
unmoved
unresponsive
But a heart of flesh is:
soft
alive
able to feel
able to respond to God
A stone can’t feel.
A stone can’t respond.
A stone can’t heal.
But flesh can.
And that’s what God is saying:
👉 “I will make your heart alive again.”
🩸 Seeing it differently
Looking at the blood in my finger…
I realized something:
A heart of flesh can feel deeply.
It can be touched.
It can even be wounded…
But it can also be healed, led, and transformed.
And the gravel beneath my feet…
It reminded me of all the things I’m learning right now.
All the words.
All the teachings.
All the places God is walking me through.
📖 Letting the Bible teach itself
This is where God has me right now—
Not just reading words…
But learning what they mean.

Because the more I learn…
The more I see:
👉 God is not just teaching me how to respond…
👉 He is changing what is within me.
✨ The deeper truth
Troubled waters reveal what’s in us.
But a heart of flesh is how God changes what’s there.
So we don’t just try harder…
We become different.
❤️ A simple prayer
Lord,
Thank You for not leaving my heart the way it was.
Thank You
for softening what was hard…
for healing what was guarded… and
for making me alive to You again.
Teach me to walk in what You’ve already begun.
In Jesus’ name
,Amen.

Hope in Today Ministries
Jesus is never too busy to listen to me…and the same Jesus who meets me there is willing to meet you there too…I have received Him in my heart as both Savior and Lord.
God is changing what used to react…
A heart of flesh is what makes it possible not to live offended
So:
Troubled Waters → reveals offense
Heart of Flesh → heals the place offense used to live
👉 “A changed heart is how we stand differently when life gets stirred.”
👉 “What if the real work God is doing isn’t just around you—but within you?”
