Day 7 – False Wisdom vs. True Wisdom

Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.

A Heart Moment

Not everything that sounds right
is from God.

He taught me how to discern the difference.

Scripture:

But if ye have bitter envying and

strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not

against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above,

but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

For where envying and strife is,

there is confusion and every evil work.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure,

then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated,

full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and

without hypocrisy.”
— James 3:14–17

Not all wisdom is the same.

Some wisdom is earthly—
driven by selfish ambition, pride, and envy.

It may sound persuasive.
It may even appear right.

But it produces strife, confusion,
and disorder.

This wisdom is not from God.

True wisdom comes from above.

It reflects the character of God—
pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy.

It bears good fruit.

It does not tear down,
but builds up.

It does not exalt self,
but points to Christ.

Discernment is learning to recognize

the difference.

When faced with decisions, we must ask:

Is this drawing me closer to Jesus,
or pulling me away?

Is it producing peace and fruit,
or strife and confusion?

True wisdom is not about knowing more—

it is about becoming more like Christ.

A Moment to Remember

There were moments I thought I was right—
but I was holding onto something God was trying to change in me.

That is the difference.

False wisdom justifies.
True wisdom transforms.

Reflection

Is there anything in my heart that I am justifying
that may not align with God’s wisdom?

What fruit is my thinking producing right now?

Prayer

Father, give me discernment
to recognize the difference between earthly wisdom and

wisdom from above.

Search my heart,
and remove anything that does not reflect You.

Fill me with Your Spirit,
so that my life reflects purity, peace, mercy, and truth.

Let every choice I make
bring glory to Jesus.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
