Day 6 – Receive, Abide, Bear
Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.
A Heart Moment
I learned that hearing wasn’t enough.
I had to remain—
to abide in Him.

Scripture:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
— Romans 10:17
“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same
bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
— John 15:5
The life of wisdom begins with receiving.
We hear God’s Word,
and faith is planted in our hearts.
But hearing alone is not enough—
we are called to abide.
To abide means
to remain,
to dwell,
to stay connected
to Christ as the true vine.
Only in Him do we have life.
Only in Him can fruit grow.
Wisdom teaches us
that our strength, our ideas,
and our striving apart from Christ
are empty.
Abiding in Him
is where life begins to flow.
The pattern of wisdom is simple:
receive the Word,
abide in Christ,
and bear fruit by His Spirit.
Yet, nothing is simple until understanding comes.
This is the life of an overcomer—
not by our own effort,
but by His life flowing through us.
A Moment to Remember
There are things God teaches us
before we ever see them written.
Then one day, we find them in His Word—
and we realize
He has been drawing us all along.

Reflection
Am I only hearing the Word,
or am I remaining in Christ daily?
What would it look like for me
to truly abide,
not just believe?
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
help me to receive Your Word with faith,
to abide in You daily,
and to bear fruit that brings glory to the Father.
Keep me close to You,
for without You I can do nothing.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
