Day 5 – Treasure in the Word

Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.

Scripture:

 

“Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord,

and find the knowledge of God.”  
— Proverbs 2:5

​

“Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that

I might not sin against thee.”  
— Psalm 119:11

​

​

The Word of God is not just information—

it is treasure.

​

When it is hidden in the heart,  
it guards us from sin,  
strengthens us in weakness,  
and fills us with wisdom from above.

​

​

The world treats Scripture lightly,  
but God invites us to treat it  
as a treasure chest overflowing with truth.

​

The more we store His Word in our hearts,  
the more prepared we are  
for trials, temptations, and decisions.

​

​

Wisdom grows as we treasure the Word.

​

Reading it,  
meditating on it,  
and obeying it  
trains our hearts to value what God values.

​

​

The treasure of His Word is not meant to stay hidden—

it is meant to be lived out,

shining as a witness to others.

​

​

Reflection

​

Am I treating God’s Word as treasure—

or as something optional?

​

Am I making space to receive it, hold it, and

live it out?

​

​

Prayer

​

Father, let me treasure Your Word above all else.

​

Write Your Word on my heart,
and by the light of Christ, help me to see it,
so that I may walk in wisdom
and resist sin.

​

May Your Word be my delight  
and my guide in every step I take.

​

In Jesus’ name,  
Amen.
