Day 3 – Run When You Must
Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.
A Heart Moment
Sometimes wisdom looked like walking away.
Not because I was strong—
but because I finally listened.

Day 3 – Run When You Must
Walking with Jesus, one step at a time.
Scripture:
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man:
but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;
but will
with the temptation
also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it.”
— 1 Corinthians 10:13
Joseph knew when to run.
Faced with temptation from Potiphar’s wife,
he did not stay to reason with it
or see how strong he could be—
he fled.
His choice cost him in the moment,
but in God’s greater story, it marked him as faithful.
Sometimes the most spiritual thing we can do is run.
God always provides a way of escape—
but it takes humility to take it.
Running is not weakness.
It is wisdom.
It acknowledges that our strength is not enough,
and that obedience to God matters more than appearances.
Faithful endurance often comes
through short-term pain
for long-term faithfulness.
Like Joseph, we may be misunderstood
or even treated unfairly,
but God honors those
who choose righteousness over compromise.
Reflection
Am I trying to manage temptation—
or am I willing to walk away from it?
Do I recognize the way of escape God is providing?
Prayer
Lord, give me discernment to know when to run.
Help me not to toy with temptation
or trust in my own strength,
but to take the way of escape You provide.
May my obedience honor You,
even when it costs me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
