Time Belongs to God — Learning to Love Through Faith, Grief, and Eternity

Time Belongs to God —

Learning to Love Through Faith, Grief, and Eternity

A real-life reflection on faith, love, surrender, and trusting God with every moment.

What began as a simple drive to the bank became something much deeper.

I was trying to make it before closing time. I had done all I knew to do, moved as quickly as I could, and still had to trust God with the outcome.

That ordinary moment became a picture of faith.

Faith keeps moving even when we do not know how things will turn out.

But the deeper revelation God began connecting in my heart was not only about making it to the bank.

It was about time.

For much of my life, time has been connected to love.

Wanting more time.

Holding tightly to people.

Not wanting to let go.

Through grief, healing, and learning to walk with Jesus, God has been teaching me that love cannot fully rest while trying to control time.

Time belongs to God.

Love learns to release time into His hands.

One of the most comforting revelations God gave me after Rob passed was this:

“You think it will take an eternity of time to see Rob again, but you’ve got it backwards.

It’s only a vapor of time until you get where he is.

Eternity is the place you go.”

That changed something deep in me.

Later, I saw how beautifully this connects to the words of Jesus:

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”— John 17:3

Eternal life is not only about later.

Life Eternal begins in knowing God through Jesus Christ.

And as I keep walking with Him, He keeps teaching me that I am already loved by God.

That means my purpose is not to spend my life striving to be loved by people.

My purpose is to receive God’s love and let that love flow through me toward others.

Love thinks beyond itself.

Love considers others.

Love releases what belongs to God.

Love trusts Him with time, grief, healing, eternity, and every breath we are given today.

This is still unfolding in me.

But I am beginning to see that the freedoms Jesus gives are not only freedom from sin, fear, and shame. He also frees the heart from clinging, striving, controlling, and fearing loss.

We are not stuck.

We are growing in grace and in an ever-increasing knowledge of God and His Son.

Glory Hallelujah! Thank You, Jesus!

I hope this brings comfort and peace to you in your growing journey.

Love in Christ,

Karen
