Part 1 — What Is Opened?
Ask. Seek. Knock — What Is Opened?
A 3-part journey into being born again and a heart opened to receive God
Ask, Seek, Knock — What Is Opened? (Part 1)
Matthew 7:8 (KJV)
“For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
The verse begins with this:
This is for everyone.
Yet… not everyone is ready to receive it.
And still, the hope in this verse is this—
it is written for everyone to believe, to come to know, and to receive.
So what is opened?
My friend… I believe our heart is opened to receive the Lord.
Many know there is a God…
but knowing about Him is not the same as being born again.
To hear about Jesus is not simply enough.
The people in the Bible did evil not because God was absent—
but because they were not yet born again.
Hear this and consider it:
We are born…
and we are saved when we believe on Jesus’ finished work on the cross—
for us and for a purpose.
A purpose that moves us beyond simply believing…
into being born again.
John 3:3 (KJV)
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
David repented of his sin.
What does that look like in our own life?
It looks like a heart that recognizes:
“I cannot fix me… but God can.”
Psalm 51:10 (KJV)
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
Jesus teaches us:
Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV)
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked…”
So where do we begin?

Part 2 — From Milk to Transformation

To begin, we must do two things:
-
Hear the Word
-
Believe the Word
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Being born again is when the Holy Spirit stirs in our heart
to transform us into a new creature—
One of peace,
one of love,
one devoted to God…
unconditional of our situation.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”
So we are the soil.
And we get to decide—decision by decision—
what kind of fruit grows from our life.
Luke 8:15 (KJV)
“But that on the good ground are they… bring forth fruit with patience.”
We either:
-
Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ… and live
(2 Corinthians 10:5)
OR
-
We grieve the Holy Spirit through unbelief and disobedience
Ephesians 4:30 (KJV)
“And grieve not the holy Spirit of God…”
Let me explain this the way the Lord showed me:
Being born again is like a glass of milk.
We are born—like plain white milk.
We are saved by grace through faith—
and the Holy Spirit is given to us.
Ephesians 2:8 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith…”
Like chocolate syrup poured into milk…
It is there.
But it must be stirred.
That stirring?
That is obedience.
That is faith in action.
That is saying:
“Lord, I trust You more than I trust myself.”

Part 3 — What Is Opened? (The Heart)
One act of obedience…
One moment of surrender…
One decision to release what is not from God
and receive what is from God—
That is when the stirring happens.
That is when transformation begins.
That is when we are not just born…
but born again into something new.
We are no longer the same old creature bound by sin—
We are made new.
Romans 6:6 (KJV)
“Our old man is crucified with him…”
Justification:
Jesus removed the penalty of sin.
Sanctification:
Jesus removes the power of sin.
But it takes our decision…
to be stirred.
Key Point:
Ask. Seek. Knock.
Have you asked?
Have you waited for understanding…
as much as God is patiently waiting for you to receive?
Have you knocked on His door
like your life depends on it?
“Help me, Lord.
I know my heart…
and I need You to transform me.”
Because when you do…
your heart is opened.
And in that open heart:
-
Grace flows
-
Mercy fills
-
Power rises
-
Love abides
James 1:17 (KJV)
“Every good gift… cometh down from the Father of lights…”
And now…
you don’t just know the way—
You walk in it.
Closing
My friend…
Did you receive a revelation today?
There is something powerful here.
Can you see it?
Love in Christ,
Karen
