These are hard questions, and I want to take them to the Lord rather than answer them from my own reasoning.
I am not presenting myself as having all the answers.
I’m inviting people to open the Bible with me and learn from Christ.

Taking the Hard Questions to Jesus — One Lesson at a Time
There are hard questions all around us.
Why is there so much evil in this world?
Why do innocent people suffer?
If God is good, why doesn’t He stop it?
Why do people hurt one another?
Why do we lie, hide, blame, and defend ourselves instead of simply telling the truth?
And where is God in all of it?
I don’t want to answer these questions with another human opinion.
I want to take them to the Lord.
Come sit with me awhile as I take some of these hard questions to Jesus and stay rooted in the Word of God—learning from Christ how to see them, how to respond to them, and maybe most importantly, asking: “Lord, is it I?” — Matthew 26:22
Because before I look at the darkness in somebody else’s heart, Jesus teaches me to look at my own.
What we’re going to walk through:
1. What Happened to Us?
Creation, the fall, sin, death—and the human heart that began hiding from God.

2. Why Can’t We See?
Spiritual blindness,
deception,
the devices of the devil,
and the God who gives light.

3. Why Jesus?
Why being “good” isn’t the Gospel
—and why God so loved this fallen world that He gave us His Son.

Why we cannot simply balance the two
—and what it means to learn Christ and be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

From Adam’s covering and blame to our own attempts to defend and protect ourselves. What are we really afraid of when we hide from truth?

9 What Is Eternal Life?
Not merely living forever.
Jesus told us what eternal life is:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

And maybe that is where all these questions are leading us.
Not into another religion.
Not into another argument.
Not into another human opinion.
But into knowing Jesus Christ.
I don’t know everywhere the Lord will take this yet. I’m learning too.
But I know where I want to keep looking: Jesus.
And when I don’t understand:
Lord, teach me.
Lord, is it I?
Help me see.

I want to open the Word of God, look unto Jesus, and let Christ teach us
— one lesson at a time.
