Christian devotional on seeking God instead of people and walking in peace over pressure, based on Philippians 4:7 and Galatians 5:26
When we stop seeking people and start seeking God, we learn to walk in peace instead of pressure

Part Two — The Practice

When your projects begin to reveal your heart…

I’m learning something deeper right now.

Even in my work… my projects… the things I’m responsible for…

There is a question underneath it all:

Am I rushing to finish

because of how people might see me?

Or

Am I walking with the Lord

in peace… one step at a time?

Because pressure has a voice.

It says:

• Finish it faster

• Make it look right

• What are people thinking?

• How does this reflect on you?

And if I’m not careful…

That pressure can quietly turn into:

• shame

• guilt

• condemnation

And before I realize it…

the project is no longer just a project

it becomes something I’m using to measure myself

And that’s where the Lord is correcting me.

Because even good things…

can quietly become idols

when they are tied to how we are seen

There is also something else hidden in this:

comparison… and even envy

Not always in obvious ways…

But in subtle thoughts like:

• What do they think of me?

• How does mine compare?

• Am I falling behind?

“Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.”

— Galatians 5:26 (KJV)

Even when we’re not trying to impress anyone…

we can still be affected by what we think others see.

And that reveals something deeper in us.

So now I’m learning a new way:

Not to work from pressure

Not to move from perception

Not to carry what God never asked me to carry

But instead…

To walk with the Lord in peace.

Because peace is not just a feeling.

It is a guard.

“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,

shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

— Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

And I’m learning this:

When I lose peace… I check my motive

When I feel pressure… I slow down

When I feel watched… I return to God

Because this is not about my work being seen.

This is about:

“Lord, help me make You seen.”

And in that place…

There is no rush.

No shame.

No performance.

Just steady, faithful steps…

With Him.

What I meant to say was love…

but I wrote life.

And I realized…

life is found in love.

God is love.

And Jesus is the truth, the way, and the life.

Still learning this.

But I can feel the difference.

This Is Part of a 3-Part Series

God is teaching this in layers:

Part 2 — The Practice: Letting go of pressure and people’s opinions

If this spoke to you, continue in this series as we move into Part 3 — The Timing, where we learn to trust God’s timing and walk in obedience without pressure.

My newest teaching video is now live on YouTube.

It’s raw, it’s real — and it’s prayerfully meant for someone God has on His heart today.

As I shared this new teaching, I was reminded of something the Lord has shown me over time: faith grows, but it remains the same faith.

The Freedoms in Christ: How Jesus Sets the Soul Free series reflects my current season of teaching — but along the way, the Lord gently led me to include two earlier videos created before this website ever existed.

One was recorded in 2015–2016, when I was first stepping out in faith, simply obeying and learning to trust God, day by day.

The other was shared a few years ago, during a season when the Lord was healing me and freeing me from pain that tried to turn loneliness into bondage.

Looking back, I see now: they were never separate stories — they were part of the same journey of faith, growth, and freedom in Christ.

Just like the parable Jesus shared:

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”
— Luke 15:8

Nothing God works through is ever lost — sometimes it’s simply waiting for the right time to be seen again.

Maybe you feel that way too: overlooked, out of season, or unsure where you belong.

But hear this:
You are not lost to God.
And if you seek Him, you will find Him.
