🌿 Devotion Title: The Pruning That Heals

“The Gardener doesn’t prune to punish—He prunes to grow us deeper. Trust the One who purges with purpose.”
“The Gardener doesn’t prune to punish—He prunes to grow us deeper. Trust the One who purges with purpose.”

📖 John 15:2 (KJV)

“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.”

✨ Devotion

There is a kind of pain that doesn’t come to harm you—it comes to heal you.

In John 15:2, Jesus tells us that the Father, the Master Gardener, removes what hinders fruitfulness. But He also prunes what is bearing fruit—so it can bear even more.

This pruning isn’t punishment. It’s proof you belong to Him.

Sometimes it feels like something dear is being cut back.

Other times, it’s a thought, a pattern, a weight, or even a relationship that must be released. But the Gardener knows what He's doing.

I used to think God was disappointed in me when life got uncomfortable. But now I see that pruning is part of His love.

He doesn’t remove to destroy. He removes to make room for more.

And more doesn’t always mean more doing—sometimes it means more depth, more peace, more trust, more of Jesus being formed in me.

Letting Him prune me is a surrender that produces beauty I couldn’t grow on my own.

🌱 Reflection

  • What is God asking to prune in your life—not to hurt you, but to heal and grow you?

  • Can you trust His hand even when you don’t understand His scissors?

  • Are you willing to let go of what’s already producing, so He can produce more?

🙏 Whispered Prayer

Lord, prune me gently, but fully.

Remove what keeps me from bearing fruit.

Cut back what’s good—if it’s holding back what’s best.

Help me surrender to Your loving hand, and trust that healing will follow.

In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.

My newest teaching video is now live on YouTube.

It’s raw, it’s real — and it’s prayerfully meant for someone God has on His heart today.

As I shared this new teaching, I was reminded of something the Lord has shown me over time: faith grows, but it remains the same faith.

The Freedoms in Christ: How Jesus Sets the Soul Free series reflects my current season of teaching — but along the way, the Lord gently led me to include two earlier videos created before this website ever existed.

One was recorded in 2015–2016, when I was first stepping out in faith, simply obeying and learning to trust God, day by day.

The other was shared a few years ago, during a season when the Lord was healing me and freeing me from pain that tried to turn loneliness into bondage.

Looking back, I see now: they were never separate stories — they were part of the same journey of faith, growth, and freedom in Christ.

Just like the parable Jesus shared:

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”
— Luke 15:8

Nothing God works through is ever lost — sometimes it’s simply waiting for the right time to be seen again.

Maybe you feel that way too: overlooked, out of season, or unsure where you belong.

But hear this:
You are not lost to God.
And if you seek Him, you will find Him.
