✨ Let It Flow – When Judgment and Righteousness Protect Your Heart
📖 Scripture: “But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.” — Amos 5:24 (KJV)
💧 Devotion
Some boundaries don’t feel strong until you’ve been tested by what could’ve broken them.
I remember the moment it happened — when I heard the invitation, the tone, the flattering words. There was a pull. But something holier stood taller.
It was the Holy Spirit, like a wall of living water rising up inside me. Quiet, but certain.
He whispered, “No. This is not for you.”
And in that moment, I knew:I
wasn’t just avoiding sin.
I was being protected by judgment.
And covered by righteousness.
💡 The Healing Power of God’s Order
Amos 5:24 is not a harsh verse. It’s a lifeline.
God isn’t saying, “I want to punish you.”
He’s saying, “I want you to see clearly.”
• Judgment clears the debris from the stream — it names what’s harmful and sets truth in motion.
• Righteousness flows like a life-giving current — it refreshes what’s been dry,
and directs us back to His heart.
When we let both flow, something shifts.
We don’t just resist temptation — we rise into peace.
We don’t just walk away — we walk free.
🔎 Discernment Is a Gift
I didn’t fully understand what I was being spared from that day. But I did understand the tug in my heart. And John 16:13 reminds me why:
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth...”
Discernment is a gift from God. And when we’re listening, He really does show us what’s true — even if our emotions are saying otherwise.
🙌 Letting It Flow
That day, I didn’t have to strive.
I didn’t need to explain myself.
I just needed to let it flow.
God’s judgment made things clear.
His righteousness gave me peace.
And what once tempted me… no longer had power.
Because when God gets in the way, it’s always for your good.
He doesn’t block joy — He redirects your steps toward true joy.
