What Does Fear Really Mean in the Bible?
Fear, in biblical terms, is tied to what we place our confidence in —
what we trust, what we look to, and what we give authority over our thoughts and decisions.
The fear of the Lord brings wisdom, safety, and life.
The fear of man, however, leads to insecurity, pressure, and silence.
God does not desire that we live in fear of Him, but that we walk in trust, reverence,
and awe of His holiness and love.
The Gift of the Holy Spirit
God has not given us fear —
He has given us His Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is not something to fear,
but something to receive.
He is the helper, the teacher, and the comforter —
guiding us into truth and strengthening us to walk in it.
You are deeply valuable to God.
So much so that He came in the flesh, lived among us,
and gave His life for us.
Jesus is risen —
and He alone is King.
Prayer
Lord, help me trust You with holy reverence and joyful confidence.
I lay down the fear of man and receive Your Spirit of truth and power.
Teach me to live in the fullness of Your love.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
Love in Christ,
Karen
