Understanding your identity and covering in Christ
Before We Begin
It’s possible to stand on the Rock…
and still carry the weight of who you used to be.
Many come to Christ,
but continue to see themselves through old labels—
shame, striving, fear, or not enough.
But God does not just rescue us—
He restores us.
He doesn’t leave us in what we were.
He clothes us in something new.
This teaching is about learning to walk in
what God has already given you.

Letting Go of the Old
We don’t just step out of old habits—
we step out of old identities.
The weight you’ve been carrying,
the labels you’ve believed,
the version of yourself shaped by pain or pressure—
that is not who God says you are.
And yet sometimes,
even after God calls us forward,
we reach back for what He already removed.
What God Has Given You
God doesn’t just take something away—
He replaces it.
Where there was heaviness,
He gives praise.
Where there was brokenness,
He gives righteousness.
Where there was striving,
He gives identity.
This is not something you earn.
It is something you receive.
You are clothed in Christ—
covered, restored, and made new.
✝️ Putting It On
Scripture says to “put on” the new man.
That means we have a choice.
Not to create something new—
but to walk in what has already been given.
Putting it on looks like:
• Choosing truth over old thoughts
• Choosing identity over insecurity
• Choosing praise even when feelings lag behind
This is not pretending—
it is aligning with what is already true in Christ.
🌿 Seeing Yourself Through God’s Eyes
Something shifts when you begin to see
yourself as God sees you.
No longer defined by your past
No longer shaped by your failures
No longer carrying what He has already covered
You begin to walk differently.
Not because you’re trying harder—
but because you understand who you are.
Chosen.
Set apart.
Clothed in His righteousness.
A Truth to Hold
You are not who you were.
You are clothed in Christ.
And what God has placed on you—
no past, no label, and no lie can take away.
Whispered Prayer
Lord,
Thank You for not leaving me where I was.
Thank You for clothing me in righteousness
and covering me with Your love.
Help me release every old identity
that does not come from You.
Teach me to walk in what You have given—
not striving, but receiving.
Let truth reshape how I see myself.
And let my life reflect who I am in You.
