Sunlight breaking through dark clouds above a grocery store parking lot, reflecting a Christian testimony about faith, grace, salvation, and God’s faithfulness in everyday life — Hope in Today Ministries
When our faith encounters God’s grace, even one minute can become a testimony. Saved by grace through faith. Romans 10:9

This image was at the 3rd location I arrived at — all by faith.

And as I entered the truck with my groceries, it all felt like a miracle. My heart knew it well. I looked up, wowed by God, amazed and humbled all at the same time by the extraordinary love and presence of our Lord who is with us.

I have learned not to say I am surprised, because we are not surprised that God does things. We know He can do all things, and we know and believe in the love God has for us.

But we can be amazed and tell God thank You

at every opportunity where our faith encounters His grace.

Saved?

What does this word “saved” mean?

Well, it is a word for all people.

We need Jesus, and we have to recognize and receive His free gift of grace — that we are saved.

God is the Justifier — not us. No matter how capable we are, we cannot deny the truth that we need God.

Romans 3:22–28 & 5:1 & 5:8

We are saved from separation from God by “not denying.”

We are saved from separation from God by not denying — but believing in and receiving — the Son He sent to stand in our place, confessing Him, trusting Him, and receiving His free gift of grace, so that we can have life with God — on earth as it is in Heaven, yes — and for all eternity, knowing God and the Son forevermore.

John 17:3 — Jesus teaches us what eternal life is: to know God and

to know the Son He sent.

And this is life eternal:

“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”

So, this is a picture of my life with God.

I like it, and I think it is beautiful.

He guides us into all truth and helps us in every way.

When God sees our faith, His faithfulness moves on our behalf.

One Minute

Read This Again Slowly

Just like the minute I gained turning into the bank parking lot — the Lord let me see I made it by faith, and He honored my faith by letting me see the job was done and all was accomplished within 1 minute to close.

I shared that trip via video yesterday, and today the Lord is reminding me of another time to share.

We went to the ER — decided by faith. Like yesterday, I didn’t know if what we needed could be done, on that trip. . . but I know now that faith is where God meets us.

After parking, the parking attendant was waiting on me to bring him my keys.

He just blurted out to me,

“You came with Jesus, didn’t you?”

I said,

“Yes! How did you know that?”

He said,

“When you pray, God shows you the secret things.”

Then he shared his testimony

and quoted Romans 10:9.

This verse is for you, me, and the world to believe.

“that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,

and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,

thou shalt be saved.”

— Romans 10:9

Whosoever is willing to recognize and receive this free gift of grace — that we are saved by grace — has the opportunity to read God’s Word with Him and tell God what He already knows about us before Jesus ever decided not to run away from the cross...

Saved by grace through faith.

…so we would never again have to be separated from knowing God’s presence and His love for us.

Read This Again Slowly

Read it again until it melts down into your soul.

God just keeps moving, and I am so grateful to know and experience His love for me.

He saved me from certain death.

When my husband died, it truly felt like I would die too. I remember not being able to breathe through the weight of grief and heartbreak. But his body simply expired — and he lives on with Jesus in the reality of the Resurrection.

And so do I.

“It didn’t kill us,” I remember telling my son once.

Even though it felt like it would… it didn’t.

Jesus saved us.

He sent a Comforter and a Guide in a very real way — in every day and in every way, we needed Him. We needed God then, and we continue on needing Him every “today,” as long as God calls it today.

And even beyond this life… into the place my husband went on ahead to live before us… eternity.

The place where we will know God and walk with Jesus closer than our faith can fully comprehend right now.

But still…

we know,

we believe,

and we walk by faith and not by sight.
