John 7:37 KJV scripture image with a peaceful wooded path and sunlight, inviting thirsty hearts to come to Jesus and drink

Learning to quiet the mind, release control, and receive the peace Jesus gives.

You don’t need more to do …

you need more trust released to the Lord.

When you get there,

I hope you find a comfortable place,

a cup of coffee or your favorite drink…

and the space to slow down—so your heart can hear.

Was asked what I do to unwind my thoughts…

I answered:

A butterfly bush works for me.

Just unwinding…

releasing my thoughts…

Just receiving.

Like the butterfly bush—it doesn’t strive or force anything.

It simply is what God made it to be,

in every season.

And somehow…that is enough.

That’s how I am learning to live.

The things I do?

I follow inspiration.

I create environments where others can come in

and feel peace…not because I made it happen,

but because I made room for it.

Right now, it’s something simple—rock painting.

Just sitting, creating, listening.

Letting the Lord meet me there.

And even this—this moment—is part of how I unwind my mind.

Not everything needs to be solved.

Some things just need to be released.

This morning, I worked through my thoughts with the Lord

and wrote them down in a book a friend gave me in 2025.

It’s called You Got This.

And somehow, through that quiet moment,

I felt my thoughts settle.

Not because I figured everything out—but because I remembered who God is

and who He made me to be.

Steady.

Not driven by emotion.

Not needing to control.

Just… steady in Him.

God helps us like this—when we slow down enough

to hear Him.

To quiet our minds

and receive from the Mind of Christ.

John 16:13 stays with me:

He guides us into all truth.

And I trust Him to do

what I cannot do.

Maybe the real struggle isn’t life around us…but the thoughts within us.

Because the truth is…

Sometimes the hardest thing

is not the chaos around us—

it’s the empty thoughts within us.

The ones that come when we’re tired.

When we’ve been carrying too much.

When we feel like we need something bigger than us

to hold it all together.

I felt that last night.

And maybe…that’s the real struggle.

Not knowing how to do

what God never asked us to do.

Not to fix people.

Not to control outcomes.

But to release our thoughts—and receive His.

“If any man thirst…”

And today, this is the verse that meets me there:

“In the last day, that great day of the feast,

Jesus stood and cried, saying,

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said,

out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”— John 7:37–38 (KJV)

We don’t need more to do.

We need more trust… released to the Lord.

And somehow, in that place—without striving, without forcing—

His peace begins to flow.

Maybe this is real for people like me.

Learning… by grace.

Come sit with the Lord

Take a moment to pause…and let Him meet you right where you are.

You don’t have to carry it all.
