Day 4 – When You See the Power of Kindness

More Than Just Nice

ree

Scripture:"

Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near."— Philippians 4:5 (GNT)

Kindness isn’t weakness. It’s not just a personality trait or a polite gesture—it’s spiritual power.

Jesus lived with fierce kindness. He touched the untouchable. He saw the ones others ignored. He told truth, but never without love. His kindness wasn’t soft—it was sacred.

Kindness has the power to disarm anger, soften hearts, and create space for healing. It cuts through noise. It opens doors that force or fear can never unlock. It reminds people that God is near—because He’s showing up through you.

When you choose kindness, especially when it's hard, you're not just being nice. You're reflecting Christ.

Reflection Questions:

  • Who in your life needs to feel the kindness of Jesus through you today?

  • What does kindness look like when you're frustrated, tired, or wounded?

  • How has someone’s kindness ever opened your heart to God?

Heart Note

A Deeper Look: Is It Nice… or Kind?

Sometimes we confuse “kindness” with simply being “nice.”

But nice can be shallow.

It can be people-pleasing, self-protecting, even fake.

Kindness, on the other hand, is spiritual.

It’s not always easy or comfortable.

It often requires prayer, trust in God, surrender, and compassion that doesn’t come naturally.

Kindness may look like soft words, but it is deeply rooted in truth and love — genuine, intentional, Spirit-led, and full of grace.

And sometimes?

Kindness means choosing mercy for someone who has hurt you.

“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”— Matthew 5:44 (NLT)

This kind of kindness doesn’t come from the flesh.

It comes from Jesus — and it makes room for healing.

Prayer:

Lord, help me choose kindness—even when it costs me. Make me aware of hurting hearts around me. Let my words carry grace, and my actions carry love. Where I’ve been harsh or guarded, make me tender and bold like You.May others see Your nearness through the kindness You grow in me

.In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Invitation:

Jesus wants to walk with you. If you're ready, tell God you believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died, was buried, and rose again so you can live.

Ask God for the power to walk in kindness, even when it hurts. He will answer.

Come back tomorrow:

Stand at the cross and choose your response.

My newest teaching video is now live on YouTube.

It’s raw, it’s real — and it’s prayerfully meant for someone God has on His heart today.

As I uploaded this, I also rediscovered my first video from 2016 — one I thought I had lost forever. But like the parable of the lost coin, it was never worthless — just out of circulation for a time. And now? It’s found and brought back to where it can shine light again.

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”
— Luke 15:8

This new video — and the old one — were waiting to be found for such a time as this.

Maybe you feel like that too: misplaced, overlooked, or just not seen.

But hear this:
You are not lost to God.
And if you seek Him, you will find Him.
