Day 3 – When You See That You’ve Been Seen

Known by Name

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. ---1 John 4:16 ESV
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. ---1 John 4:16 ESV

Scripture:

"Jesus looked at him and said, 'You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas' (which, when translated, is Peter)."— John 1:42 (NIV)

There’s something sacred about being seen—not just noticed, but truly known. When Jesus looked at Simon, He didn’t just see a fisherman. He saw a man with a calling. A man who would become someone new. A man with a future far beyond what he imagined.

And Jesus spoke that identity out loud: “You are... You will be...”

When we come face-to-face with Jesus, He doesn’t just see our past or our mistakes. He sees who we are becoming. Even when we feel hidden, overlooked, or unsure, He looks at us with full understanding and unwavering love.

You are not invisible.

You are not forgotten.

You are not disqualified.

You are seen—and chosen—by the One who knows your name and speaks life into your becoming.

Reflection Questions:

  • Do you ever feel unseen or overlooked? How does Jesus’ gaze change that?

  • What name or identity might God be speaking over your life right now?

  • How can you respond to being seen by God in this season?

Heart Note – You Are Known

I share this because the same God who did this for me is willing and wants you to know His love is for you too!

I know what it feels like to be alone.

One day, I sat on the dock, talking to God and quietly asked Him,

“Why am I feeling so lonely?”

A few moments later, four boys came running down with big smiles on their faces. They were so excited to show me something they had rescued—a baby goose.

They placed that little goose in my hands.

It had been abandoned by its goose family, and somehow, God brought it right to me in that very moment. As I held it, I realized: God saw me. He knew what I was feeling and sent those boys, and that baby goose, to remind me

—I am known and I am loved.

That moment replaced my loneliness with the love of God.

It’s a love I’ve been growing in ever since.

I share this story because the same God who did this for me wants you to know: He sees you too.

Just like that little goose eventually found a new goose family, God has a place for you too—a family of love, peace, and belonging in Him.

How much more valuable are you than a goose? (Luke 12:24)

You are not forgotten.

You are known.

And because you are known—you are deeply loved.

Love in Christ Jesus,

Karen

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for seeing me. When I feel small, remind me I am known. When I doubt my purpose, remind me You’ve called me by name. Speak into the places in me that feel hidden or forgotten. I receive what You see, and I choose to follow where You lead.

In Your name, Amen.

Invitation:

Jesus wants to walk with you. If you're ready, tell God you believe Jesus is the Son of God, who died, was buried, and rose again so you can live.

Don't quit! God has good things ahead. Choose surrender. Choose trust. Choose to stay focused on Jesus to trust, follow and obey.

Come back tomorrow:

Discover how kindness can be your power, even in the fire.

My newest teaching video is now live on YouTube.

It’s raw, it’s real — and it’s prayerfully meant for someone God has on His heart today.

As I shared this new teaching, I was reminded of something the Lord has shown me over time: faith grows, but it remains the same faith.

The Freedoms in Christ: How Jesus Sets the Soul Free series reflects my current season of teaching — but along the way, the Lord gently led me to include two earlier videos created before this website ever existed.

One was recorded in 2015–2016, when I was first stepping out in faith, simply obeying and learning to trust God, day by day.

The other was shared a few years ago, during a season when the Lord was healing me and freeing me from pain that tried to turn loneliness into bondage.

Looking back, I see now: they were never separate stories — they were part of the same journey of faith, growth, and freedom in Christ.

Just like the parable Jesus shared:

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?”
— Luke 15:8

Nothing God works through is ever lost — sometimes it’s simply waiting for the right time to be seen again.

Maybe you feel that way too: overlooked, out of season, or unsure where you belong.

But hear this:
You are not lost to God.
And if you seek Him, you will find Him.
