A Breath of Air — A Heart Moment
Today, something small stopped me in the middle of life and work.
I didn’t create it.
I just noticed it.
And noticing was enough—
because the moment I noticed, I could say:
“Thank You, Jesus, for helping me see.”
And my soul quietly calmed.
The Heart Moment
I watched my grandson gently breathe warm air through his nose onto a cold window.
Without effort, a heart formed in the fog on the glass.
It appeared quietly—
and stayed longer than I expected it to.
At the same time,
my granddaughter was drawing hearts
in my Bible.
Her heart was sincere, careful, and full of love.
When she noticed the heart on the window,
she wanted to make one too.
She tried to draw it with her nose—
but it wouldn’t form.
And in that small moment, the Lord helped me see something
I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.
Some hearts are drawn.
Some hearts are formed.
Some things come through intention and effort.
Other things are revealed only through rest.
I smiled and quietly said,
“Thank You, Jesus, for letting me see both.”
The hearts in my Bible.
And the heart on the glass.
God looks at the heart.
And sometimes He shows us how a heart is being formed—
gently, quietly, from the inside out.
Room to Breathe
As the day went on, I had to keep working.
I didn’t stop life to sit with this moment—
I carried it with me.
And I noticed something else:
When the heart is overwhelmed, it doesn’t need pressure.
It needs room to breathe.
So I let the Lord meet me right where I was—
in the middle of responsibility, unfinished tasks, and a tired body.
I didn’t need everything explained.
I needed truth to hold me while I kept going.
🌿 Morning: When the Pressure Isn’t Mine
For the pressure that is not yours:
“Cast your burden on the Lord,
and He will sustain you.”
— Psalm 55:22
This pressure is not proof of responsibility.
It is proof of overflow.
God never asks us to carry what He already intends to sustain.
Whisper of Truth
You don’t have to force what God is forming.
You don’t have to carry what He is asking you to release.
And you don’t have to understand everything
to be held by Him.
Quiet Prayer
Jesus,
Thank You for meeting me in the small moments.
Thank You for slowing me down enough to see
what You are doing beneath the surface.
Teach me to rest when I want to strive.
Teach me to trust when I don’t understand.
And remind me that You are forming something in me
that effort alone could never create.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
With love in Christ,
Karen
