Adam, Jesus, and the Redeeming Power of the Blood of Christ
Adam tried to cover himself with fig leaves.
God clothed him Himself.
Jesus still does the same thing today —
clothing us in righteousness through Christ.
📖 From Fig Leaves to Righteousness
From the very beginning, humanity has searched for a way to cover shame, fear, guilt, and separation from God.
In the Garden of Eden, after Adam and Eve sinned, Scripture says they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves. Humanity’s first instinct after sin was not surrender — but self-covering.
“They sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.” — Genesis 3:7
But fig leaves could never truly remove sin.
They only hid the evidence of it.
And in many ways, humanity still does the same thing today.
We try to cover ourselves with:
performance,
pride,
success,
religion without relationship,
self-righteousness,
approval from others,
distractions,
control,
or outward appearances.
But none of these things can truly cleanse the heart.
Only Jesus can.
Adam brought sin and death into the world through disobedience.
Jesus came as the second Adam — bringing life, reconciliation, righteousness, and peace through obedience and sacrifice.
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” — Romans 5:19
The blood of Jesus was not symbolic only.
It was the complete and final payment for sin.
Hebrews teaches us that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins, and that Christ entered once and for all as the perfect sacrifice.
“Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” — Hebrews 9:12
Jesus does not merely cover sin externally like fig leaves.
He transforms the heart.
He clothes us in righteousness.
He restores relationship with God.
He removes condemnation for those who truly believe and follow Him.
This message is an invitation to move beyond outward coverings and into real freedom through Christ.
Not hiding.
Not pretending.
Not striving to earn worthiness.
But receiving what only Jesus could provide through His sacrifice, mercy, and redeeming love.

A Personal Note From Hope in Today Ministries
This website is being built prayerfully, faithfully, and in real time as the Lord continues to teach, refine, and grow me through His Word and through everyday life.
Some teachings, series, and links may still be in progress, partially edited, or awaiting deeper study and organization.
Rather than hide the process, I have chosen to leave many things visible along the way — because I believe there is something beautiful and honest about allowing others to witness God working through human limitation.
I am not building this from a place of perfection.
I am building it from surrender.
There are moments where I can clearly see God moving beyond my own ability, timing, understanding, strength, or capacity. And honestly, I believe that is part of the testimony.
The excellence belongs to God.
So
if you arrive at something unfinished, imperfectly formatted, still growing, or yet to be fully developed, I simply ask for grace and patience as this ministry continues to unfold one step at a time.
And if there is something here that encourages your heart, strengthens your faith, helps you understand Scripture more clearly, or helps you see Jesus more deeply — then praise God for that.
If not yet,
perhaps return again later.
Because just as God continues working in us,
He is continually working through this place as well.
Thank you for being here.
May the Lord meet you exactly where you are today.
With love in Christ,
Karen
