Day 1 — When Going a Little Farther Feels Impossible
Taking the first step when you don’t feel ready
📖 Scripture Focus
“And he went a little farther,
and fell on his face, and prayed, saying,
O my Father, if it be possible,
let this cup pass from me:
nevertheless
not as I will,
but as thou wilt.”
— Matthew 26:39 (KJV)
The First Step Is Often the Hardest
Sometimes the hardest part
is not the whole journey—
it’s taking one more step.
When you’re already tired…
already stretched…
already unsure—
even going a little farther
can feel impossible.
Jesus Showed Us This First
Jesus Himself came to that place.
In the garden—
He didn’t run.
He didn’t avoid the moment.
He went a little farther.
And in that step,
He surrendered:
👉 “Not my will… but Thine.”
What That Means for Us
Faithfulness doesn’t always look strong.
Sometimes it looks like:
• staying when you want to leave
• praying when you feel weak
• trusting when you don’t understand
It’s not about how far you go.
It’s about being willing
to take the next step with God.
When You Feel Like You Can’t
There will be moments
when everything in you says:
👉 “I can’t do this.”
But that’s often the very place
where God is inviting you:
👉 to trust Him more deeply
Because the step you take in weakness—
becomes strength
when it is surrendered to Him.
What Faith Looks Like Today
Faith today may not look big.
It may look like:
• choosing not to give up
• taking a quiet moment to pray
• moving forward, even slowly
Because faith is not measured
by how much you do—
but by your willingness to respond.
Walking This Out Today
What is the “little farther”
God is asking you to take today?
Where do you feel resistance… hesitation… or fear?
What would it look like
to trust Him in that one step?
Prayer
Father,
when I feel like I cannot go any further,
give me the strength to take one more step.
Teach me to surrender my will to Yours—
even when it feels difficult.
Help me to trust that You are with me
in every step I take.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

✨ Final Truth
You don’t have to take the whole journey today.
Just go
a little farther.
And trust that God
will meet you there.
