Just a thought as I watched the horses this morning. Made me think about how we treat people when we feel our needs. By Karen Rowe March 9, 2016

Welcome to this series by Hope in Today: “Let Your Light Shine!”
Do we know how to get that light of Jesus to come out of us to Shine for The Christ?
I just jotted this down as inspiration to notice how we treat people and remember God is our source and God is our provider of all things we need. Sometimes, people want to take care of the securites that are fake in this world, like finances, etc. We need to remember that God loves us and HE is our only real and true and lasting security.
Read this with tender ears, because I just jotted this down as a passing thought.
This morning they were waiting with Grace. This morning was evidence they saw my faith. This morning they behaved with expectation. This morning was evidence that they believed I knew their hope.
Yes, I am talking about those horses I love to feed! My favorite chore is that I love to feed the horses hay.
Day by day they would gobble up their hay –and wait with anticipation of the next time that they only hoped I knew their need; that somehow their ninny would communicate their hunger to me –and it did.
Today, however something new happened. They were positioned in expectation and they were positioned by God’s grace to teach me something about our faith.
Will you follow along with me just a minute and reflect on your own faith and think about God’s perspective as He teaches us ours.
Once, we fed one large round bale every 2 weeks. However, the round bales were gone and we were blessed by square bales to feed for the remainder of the winter-time; and until grass comes on strong once again by God’s good grace.
Square bales are more expensive, but brings with them a simplier blessing that smaller bales are more opportunities to demonstrate our faithfulness to feed each horse plenty until we are assured that they are satisfied.
Now, the Lord reminds me of how much greater is God’s provisions unto our every need?
Yet, let’s think about our reactions as we listen to the voice of God; and as we read this about a horse.
Day by day, because now that a large round bale as not at the ready convenience of our horse's unlimited supply of hay, the horses seemed to get greedy -and it took a strange horse in our herd to press them to this new line of defense. Now, think about that strange person, or situation that comes in your life that presses you to the limits of behaving in your natural human instinctive reactions, but against your normal character...
Amie Lou began to chase off the smaller horses as if to say, don’t eat what I will want later; as if to know that when this feeding was eaten and gone, there would be a wait by “faith” on the next feeding. Obviously, the horses new reaction was demonstrating more instincts with doubt and self-survival, than assurance in their trust in their provisions –until today.
How much do you trust God for your provisions? This is the thought the Holy Spirit is stirring in me.
God provides for us like this -day by day enough and all we will need, but our reactions show how grateful we are to God; and our faithfulness to patience and kindness shows our trust in the source we have in God through Christ -and yet, God still provides for all.
Grace showed up for me to see in this way that I can teach you what God revealed to me about faith; and how we treat each other in regards to getting what we need.
Conistency teaches faith!
Today, the horses showed me that they knew where I would place hay in abundance and they were calmly positioned expectantly awaiting their portions. Two horses on one side of the barn; two on the other and one down next to the pond. There was absolutely no fighting or bickering among them this morning. No chasing the other away from what they wanted for later. There was peace in the field and the horses looked well.
Now, it is good to know that one of these horses is not ours and by all means aside from our faith, hope and love that brought us to the attention of another person’s need –it shouldn’t be here, because of the living sacrifice of our blessing for the good of another. This is the horse that pressed our other horses ... But this is the faith that I preach –the faith the Jesus teaches me; and the faith that the Holy Spirit reminds and enables me by!
This horse, with a mouthful of hay, happily munching on breakfast, watched me from over the fence and over a raised up pallet that was leaned against the fence, as if to say to me, I know what you have done. This horse almost spoke to my mind that she knew I did for her what perhaps she hadn’t deserved. She has an attitude and is in a lot of pain, mixed together she has been a thorn in our side to have in our pasture. Yet, we treat her the same. We feed her plenty. We even go out of our way to meet her needs with compassion, because she can't get along as well. She has seemed bitter. But we treat her the same, unconditional of her behavior against us or the rest of our herd. Why, because of the love God is, who lives in us.
This by demonstration is the way God cares for us. He is our provider. He is our lover. He is our provider of everything we need and He is whom we depend on for everything that is beyond our reach; and the provider of everything that is attainable! But do we trust Him? Do we believe? Do we hope with faith (assurance / conviction)?
Today, think about your needs, but look to God and ask Him about trust.
Ask God to teach you how to be a giver –as you trust God is the supplier. Ask God if you have been a taker in His eyes; as far as He has seen your heart; and seen things that you may not have realized yet. Ask God to know His Grace and find that rest in your faith that you can appreciate your supply and enjoy your provisions.
Praise God with your respect as you position yourself where you know your portion lies, and look to God with admiration that He is the lover of all. Look to God with eyes of acknowledgment that you realize just what God has done for you –because He has SO loved you just as you are.
Think about Jesus and praise God today. Faith is the freedom from doubt that God is God; and the conviction of God’s love for you, by being convinced in what Jesus has done for you.
I hope this is a blessing to you. In the Name of Jesus, I share by my faith.
