I don't have it all figured out, BUT God does ... Follow Jesus is my personal motto!
I hope this is a blessing to you!

Today's Call to Christ!

Good morning DDC Readers! Today is Friday, January 16, 2015!  Thank you for joining us with Dewey’s Daily Cup!  I’m Karen Rowe filling in for Dewey today.

It is an honor and a joy to join you on this beautiful Friday morning! Yet, as I write this, the weather may be different in different locations –just as our lives may be going through different seasons of our life.

I was so happy to get up in the wee hours of this morning to pray and write a message to you this morning –because when I prayed I realized the things I was praying for were important; and frankly, if I were sleeping, as I debated this morning; prayers that needed to be said wouldn’t have been revealed to me in quite the same way.

There is a time for rest –and Lord willing, I will not get up every morning this early, but for this day, I am glad to report to you that God is with us!

Will you pray the Lord’s Prayer with me to begin your day also?

These are the words: The Lord’s Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13

9 Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I have a human nature; God made me good, but still –my human nature needs changed by God. I prayed and asked God to reveal to me what to write for you today?

Today, as far as this moment, I am beginning with my morning revelations:

We can trust God!

We can trust that God will change things for us!

We can see that a tree will change a scene –a once plain and empty field will be made beautiful with one grown tree. Yet, that tree doesn’t appear overnight. It begins with a seed and then it begins to grow; and with that growth, we can see changes appear within and around that tree.

"For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy."

Hebrews 10:14

Each beautiful thing in God’s Creation changes according to its design. A River will carve a bank. Consistently Running Water will even change the shape of a rock over time; and so will the Holy Spirit change our human nature to become spiritually beautiful.

Later, I will share the links to what I have learned over the last 2 weeks on this topic (see below).

Would you like to join me and read more?

If you are parting now, be blessed and thank you for your time this morning.

I will leave you with a summary of what I truly believe is one of Today’s messages from the Lord.

  • Words are powerful! We either speak blessings or curses to each other.
  • The words we choose either promote Peace; or furthers "evil’s cause" of frustration and fear.

  • Remember to pray for those who offend you.
  • Prayer is our duty; and if we don’t pray for those "who don’t know God’s Way yet" –Then, who will?

After all, if you are the one being offended, then you are the one God has called to pray.

The Bible holds the treasures of God’s Written Word to us; and teaches us that to avoid causing offense,

Know God's Will and do the right thing always.

God is God. God is love. God is just.

God is the judge; The Holy Spirit Convicts; our job is to pray.

Thoughts to ponder "over your favorite Cup of morning delight," as you wake up to face this day ... in this world, with the Lord.

This does not mean you are a doormat;

...This means you know how to carry your Royal Cross with Jesus!

  1. Maintain your steps in the fruit of the Holy Spirit (… self-control …) –with patience and kindness (…Love IS…) as far as it depends on you –in order that you can pray blessings over others; and remain in God's Will as far as it depends on you.
  2. Remember God’s Way Is Jesus; Act with Christ –Don’t React from “human nature” emotions (STRENGTH IN CHRIST vs Human Nature Weakness).
  3. When confronted with anger, remember the #3 in the Trinity; and BE STILL and KNOW GOD IS GOD for 30 Seconds, 30 Minutes, 3 hours, 3 days and earnestly seek God's Will for your mind & heart / behavior.

The difference in 30 seconds with Spiritual Self-Control,

is that if you give situations time, eventually you will see

that things are not always as they seem.

The Real Assurance we need comes from our Faith, which pleases God!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Hebrews 11:1
Pray and don't get in God's Way.
More specifically:  PRAY, SEEK GOD'S WILL & be careful not to get in God's Way.
It takes faith to Trust God!

It is easier to give up worrying, than to try to control things that
you can't change... But, God Can!

There are plenty in this world willing to speak their mind

– which when spoken rashly out of emotional selfish ambition, pride or envy, can bring even more curses over a life that is already begging for spiritual prayers and blessings.

What the world needs is one more like you

... to be seeking God's will ... Praying; and willing to draw in the sand and wait in your knowledge to come to you from God ...

  • Waiting on the Lord is an ACTION (faith) IN CHRIST!
  • To BE remaining in your faith is a POSITION (faith) IN CHRIST!
  • Trusting in God and also in Jesus is OUR CALL (faith) IN CHRIST!

It takes FAITH to be Patient and Wait!

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6)."

Proverbs 16:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

The world needs Jesus; and the world needs us to reflect who He is!

I hope this is a blessing to your morning!

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 1, “Neither Hot nor Cold, by Karen Rowe

Happy New Year dear readers and fellow Christians! Or, perhaps you believe in everything; and don’t quite know the value of Jesus in your life? Today, I say Happy New Year to us all, because Today is a brand new day to meet the Lord Jesus and believe on Him as your Savior and follow Him as your Lord each moment and step by step! Today is about following Jesus as Lord over our life! I write to you today to encourage in the Word of God and Praise God for the blessings in overflow!

Yes, I was told this by someone recently, she said, “I believe in everything,” but the piece she was missing is that there is ONE to know and follow; and HIS Name is Jesus. Jesus is the Truth, the Way and the Life!

My son demonstrated to me that a child just learning can argue a stance of it is neither –with a purpose to remain neutral. Doesn’t want to willingly disobey the truth, but not fully ready to surrender over from their justification cushion that hints just enough that it is okay to be disagreeable or disobedient as long as they can claim neutral.

I taught my son just yesterday –there is no neither! We are either or –we are either being obedient or disobedient, because if we claim neither then we are remaining disobedient.

  1. As the truth is the truth / there is no lie in the truth!

Simply put, it is either the truth, or a lie.

The truth is pure with no lie in it; a lie is any variance away from the truth, which makes it the opposite of truth.

Jesus is the truth; and in Him there is no lie –about God, or life, or the way to living a good life with God.

2.  As we are either agreeable with God; or disagreeable with God / there are no shades of grey!

We are either being obedient, or disobedient according to our faith and knowledge in Christ.

3.  As a fact is a fact; and fiction is fiction –the facts can’t be fiction; or else it is not a fact.

There can be humor in the Truth –but joking can cross that line. Think about the difference.

Here is a bit of humor with a confession of truth on this related subject.

Yesterday, I found it funny to my soul to admit a certain truth in an awkward moment.

I thought to myself, it has never been so important to me to know the speed limit –until now, when a police car pulled in behind me on Hwy 70, while boogieing on down the road!

It is a routine path of travel for me and I honestly use that road as my own. It took a cop car behind me to realize how much I had to slow down to be obedient to the law.

I learned a valuable lesson –as I took this warning from God and skipped the lesson from the law. This is Grace and Mercy!

We can apply everything to God’s Word: I realized the time I really wish I knew the speed limit was when the car with lights of authority pulled in behind me! I really didn’t know the speed limit –I always just drive that road the way it feels right to me! Yet, there is a boundary of grace I learned! It felt so slow –but feelings are not our guide –the Lord is our continual guide in all things; if we don’t abandon being obedient to the Truth; or justify to do as we please!

So I was convicted yesterday to slow down and obey the law according the speed limit. I am not above the law –I am above the penalties of the law, IF I will come in to obedience as the Lord teaches me! The next time I choose to speed on this road, I may also very well choose my ticket! God will still love me, but this is Grace and Law.

Think about this in your walk with Christ, which is also according to God’s Holy Word; and listen to the nudges from the Holy Spirit and come into obedience with God!

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 2 “The Beauty of Living Life Spiritually with God,” by Karen Rowe

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 2 “The Beauty of Living Life Spiritually with God,” by Karen Rowe

As we begin, something to meditate on as you read today: What is the use of life, if we choose to live to die? We are born to live! And, in Christ we don’t have to die!

Until the Lord reveals this spiritual understanding, it may seem contradictory to our “human nature lack of” spiritual understanding –but have you learned the beauty in living your life spiritually with God? Spiritual is who you really are in life; and who you are to God –and whom others see in our behavior.

Is your goal to live as a human for yourself to die a good life lived? Or, I encourage you to live your life to the full in Christ Jesus to live, beginning today and continuing through all eternity!

When my dad transcended to heaven a couple of years ago, and his human body died, I learned in a moment that we are born to live, to die, to live! Now, think about that for a moment! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1).” God already had a plan for us to Succeed to live in the life He gave to us!

Open your Bible to read:

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Romans 8:28-29 KJV

God’s plan was NOT for us to die –God’s plan for us was to be born, to go through a process maturing in Christ, making possible that we can live a wonderfully blessed life eternally with Him! That wows me –Because God is God; and every time I get a spiritual glimpse of life with God, God amazes my human mind that barely grasps knowledge, but spiritually, we can (yes; you too can) not only understand this life with God, but also live –on earth as it is in Heaven with Him! Now and forevermore with God –even after we shed this old human body!

I hope this is a blessing to you as well as me!

I write to you because I care! I write to you because my goal is to serve God in all that I do!

I write to you because no matter where you have been; or what you have done, God still loves you!

  • God still has a plan for you!
  • God still wants you to live with Him forever and ever, beginning today!
  • God still wants to live with you! It is God’s will for you to live forever and ever with Him –beginning today!
  • And, don’t be surprised –nothing should surprise you about God, but be amazed if you will, because God can and will use your gifts and talents –and experiences to serve in His Kingdom in a very special way for His glory to be seen and experienced!

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 3 “Why Sacrifice our Feelings?” by Karen Rowe

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 3 “Why Sacrifice our Feelings?” by Karen Rowe

Okay, so we live with God on earth as it is in Heaven –What is this life with God all about? Read your Bible to learn more and pray, but Spiritual life begins with believing Jesus!

  • We have to be sure we are following the Holy Spirit; and not the unholy spirit.
  • Today, we are 1st called by God to live! And, then we are called to love like Jesus; and pray like Jesus; and live with God in Peace – With Joy (by God’s grace), which is our strength to overcome all things!
  • One step at a time Sweet Jesus, that is all we are asking from you –teach us to live like you! Amen.
  • And, To God be the glory in all things!!!

Today is a good day to speak the Truth of what the Lord Jesus has shown me in my life –which in all accounts is nothing different than we all go through! I hope this is a blessing to you!!!

January 9, 2015 –by Karen Rowe, The day I wrote the rest of this article, I opened my husband’s Bible and read from Jeremiah 35! I prayed, “Lord is there a message for me here today?” Bottom line; Yes! Chapter 35 of this book of Jeremiah summed up what the Lord is showing me in this Today –A blessed life is knowing that our blessed life is ONLY found in our obedient walk with Jesus!

How? Do you wonder how do we walk in obedience to God’s Way?

The answer is this –By living according to the Truth that works; and by the Way the leads … to the Life we enjoy to live!

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6) KJV.

What is the Lord asking you to sacrifice today? Money, Time, Things, Sleep, Feelings … Most all things we sacrifice for the good of the Lord’s Way involves putting aside our feelings; and asking God about His will.

Why Sacrifice?

  • The Holy Spirit is teaching us to sacrifice our “want to” sinful nature, such as our “want to lash out with our mouth” & “feeling justified to do as we please” emotional human nature (feelings), because when we react in emotions we produce a rotten fruit, which are of those emotional reactions that are of no good use or purpose that would glorify God.
  • The Holy Spirit is teaching us, and guiding us to Spiritual Self-Control, which allows God to work through us to produce a powerful fruit of the Spirit –which reveals the true nature of God.
  • No one wants to eat rotten fruit –God asks us to reveal a pleasant TRUE and JUST fruit (God’s Nature), because honestly, life with God is beautiful; and God doesn’t desire for anyone to perish from a lack of knowledge.
  • Life with God comes with sacrifice and –yes, tests and trials, but nothing beautiful is born or grows without some pain.

Living our life WITH God comes with Serving Jesus in a Humble way –I hope to reveal a message to you today of WHY God asks us to be Patient, Kind and to Pray for each other.

Yes, this is a sacrifice to the Lord! It is easy to pray when we want to, but what about when someone disrupts our peace? –Are you going to throw your Peace in Christ away to do what you feel like; or pull your strength from your relationship with Jesus to do the right thing in God’s Way?

Let us pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus and by the authority given unto us in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dear Father, thank you for your Word to us and thank you for your patient perseverance with us as you remain our God and Father –the Creator and Sustainer of all! I ask you in the power of the Holy Spirit to let your love fall down on every reader right now to KNOW how incredibly and immensely valuable we all are to you dear Lord. Rain down your peace for those who do not know such love to experience what they are seeking and a moment of joy that inspires our ears to open to listen to you Father to hear your good message about all you have been striving to get us to hear. Lord, thank you for this opportunity to share the good news that you reveal to me. I pray for this to be your work through me at my expense; that nothing I do will come back void. But rather be profitable for building your Kingdom by the grace you run through those who love you, like a river to spread your Joy. We live in a world that is increasingly seeking freedom from you Father in all the wrong places, but Father forgive them for they don’t know you like we do. Pour your anointing love in The Church as we honor Your Son, Jesus who is the Head of Your Church. In Jesus Name, Protect us; and Bless us according to your all-knowing knowledge and power. Covered in the blood of Jesus, according to the Word of God and in the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray –and together, all the believers, say Amen as we come into agreement with those things that You, Father reveal to our hearts. Amen.

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 4 “God Says, Will You?” by Karen Rowe

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 4 “God Says, Will You?” by Karen Rowe

Read more as the Lord leads you. Jeremiah 35:13-17 speaks the Words of the LORD, “Will you not learn a lesson and obey my words?” declares the LORD. … I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me.

If we are honest with ourselves and with God, at times, don’t we still “want to do, what we want to do –and do what we want to do when when we feel like it” in this today –as it is written in the Bible?

Now that we are covering the written prophesy from the Bible, let’s really take a look at modern Today.

I am not so much today addressing certain pleasurable disobediences that the Bible also addresses, so if you are not certain about questions in your life with God, just read the Bible with God and talk to Jesus about it.

More specifically this is addressing that there is a “release of anger” we “want to” LET slide on out of that door to our heart –which is called our mouth!

  • And, God looks at and knows our heart.

I encourage you to let God reveal your heart to you –and let Him deal with your own heart.

Now, check this out!

If we are willing, we can allow the Holy Spirit to arrange our words that are rooted to real feelings in our heart, but in a way that the Holy Spirit will specifically direct our mind to align with God’s will for us!

This is really cool! God will do this for you!!! He does this for me!

Which choice of words will result in Good fruit for God?

  1. They made me angry; and I told them my thoughts.
  2. I experienced someone’s anger and frustration come against me? It was not mine –I only felt what they are living –now I can pray for them; as I leave keeping in my Peace with Jesus (as far as it depends on me).

This is my “light bulb” message of revelation! I was taught this knowledge about 3 years ago –but the Lord has recently revealed to me in my understanding! Now, Praise God, I am more enabled in my Self-Control now that I better understand God’s Way!

And, I pray that you will seek understanding –even when you don’t completely understand YET; –like I did! And, teach me what you know that I haven’t been shown yet! We are the body of Christ and God calls His Church into the unity of His will be done –not ours. Teach me!

This message is so important in Today –as long as the Lord calls is Today!

Deuteronomy 30:7-10

…your foes and enemies who persecuted you. 8 And you shall again obey the voice of the Lord and keep all his commandments that I command you today.

The Lord your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground.

For the Lord will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers10 when you obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, when you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 5 “Growing Pains,” by Karen Rowe

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 5 “Growing Pains,” by Karen Rowe

I am sure we all have a story to tell –What is yours?

I would love to hear your story and the revelations that God gives unto you!

(Link coming soon) I remember the “Black Suburban” testimony that I have never finished writing you about. Did you read the beginnings to that experience –about a year ago? This was one such time when the Lord was teaching me how to recognize my duty in life! My duty in life is to pray, which requires my self-control –to remain patient and kind to people at all times.

All I needed to hear that day, was “I’m sorry, but we have had a very disagreeable person come and he refused to pull out of line.” My answer was from the Lord, “oh that’s okay; I can be patient a little while longer and now I know I can pray for him.”

EVERY THING CHANGED IN THAT MOMENT!

EVERY DYNAMIC in the spiritual, and the natural realm CHANGED IN THAT MOMENT!

I’m not perfect, but I am learning step by step from the perfect one (Jesus) a better, and more productive way to live my life that God has given me to live well. My call in life is to pray for people!

  • I need the written word from God to remind me and hold me still to remember that God is God.
  • I need the Holy Spirit to convict my mind, to reveal the hidden spiritual truth to me when I can’t see.
  • I need the Holy Spirit to hold me in the Truth of God; and keep me in the Way of God, which is the power of God’s love at work through us; and for a purpose!

I can behave like a true daughter of God.

Pastor Jesse L. Alston taught me something amazing about 3 years ago in regards to something I experienced.

Only recently did the Holy Spirit reveal a deeper understanding to me that this is the truth:

When someone causes me to feel a certain way that I don’t like, or recognize as of from God –that feeling it is not in me; or from me!

Rather, those anxious feelings are coming from them (AT ME) –from those that sometimes try to hurt me, whether on purpose or not; I am feeling a bit of what is coming at me that is living from within them.

Really, it comes down to it is not about me –it is about Jesus living in me.

My testimony on this topic:

Recently, a person was very rude and impatient and unforgiving to me about something I had a right about and also justification for, which had hurt no one; my timing only made her job more tedious.

This attitude was condemning against me; and self-righteous toward me with slurs and burdens of guilt being thrown at me. The air in that moment seemed committed to put me in a place that she thought I deserved.

In 30 seconds flat, she managed to make me so angry that I wanted (I mean I really wanted) to let my words lash out AT her, but thank God, I have learned some self-control; and I did not.

However, even as I was exiting the building, and the door was still cracked open enough for this person to hear my thoughts, I was still tempted in my growing anger to tell her just how rude she was –but I didn’t.

And, maybe there is a time to speak the Truth –if the Lord leads, but this was not one of those times.

  • Instead, the Holy Spirit brought me my deeper understanding of what I was actually facing!

What I felt –was what she was living!

Think about this carefully, because this is the Truth and the Way and The Life that Jesus teaches us to follow – in, and through and by God’s grace we can follow Jesus!

I didn’t see it at first, but my duty was to pray for her! –in private; I don’t believe she would have received prayer in person, but God answers all prayer that is originated in the power of the Holy Spirit promptings to pray!

Now, as my duty was to pray for her –how could I pray for her if I was still in my anger against her?

In a moment, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that all that I was feeling … was just a bit of what she was living!

I prayed for her; and my peace in Jesus surged in my spirit! I really believe that the Holy Spirit is drawing her near to God, but I believe that she is resisting because of something that has happened to her –from people (no necessarily me).

My son said, “Mommy, I hope someone else cares for our dog. Why would she work here if her job makes her so angry?” I answered what the Lord showed me! I said, “Son, I believe she likes dogs; I just don’t believe she cares for people too much. In her life, people have probably treated her badly and she has given up on being nice to people.”

The Lord taught me to pray specifically for this person who had no smiles or kind greetings to share.

The Holy Spirit poured a kindred spirit in me to love her in Christ Jesus and pray for her spiritual and natural healing and well-being.

I could go on and on with my experiences, but what really matters to you is yours!

I encourage you to read God’s written word and pray and listen to hear God’s soft whisper voice that God will speak to you –with a challenge to obey, by your faith that God has blessed you with already!

Write to me and tell me your story! [email protected] I will love to hear the good news of how God is teaching you and leading you and helping you each and every day!

As you leave with your reading today, I hope you know just how much God loves you and that Jesus has loved you from before you were even born.

As you feel that tug on your heart that is righteous and lovely and quite simply a wholeness of who you truly are overwhelming spiritual feeling, which transcends all human understanding –it’s the spiritual you –your soul that lives forever …

I pray that you draw near to your true and living God through Jesus the Christ –who is calling you by your name and knows exactly how many hairs are on your head! You are this valuable to God!

God loves you! Jesus loves you! The Holy Spirit is your Helper through all things!

Read God’s Word to learn more about this life with God –that is blessed forever and ever.

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 6 “Summary,” by Karen Rowe

Today’s Call to Christ, Part 6 “Summary,” by Karen Rowe

Today, I would sum up this article like this!

Either way we choose to act and speak is powerful –there is no “neither” in hot nor cold – Luke warm is not innocent.

Scriptures teach:

  • “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord (Romans 12:11).”
  • "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money (Mathew 6:24).”

The Word of God is written for a good purpose –for me; and also for you; and all who will believe … not to cause offense, but to guide us on that straight and narrow path to our blessed life with God –as a light to our feet and a lamp to our path for this is our walk that is in our life with Jesus the Christ!

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16).

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth (Revelation 3:16).

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, (Matthew 24:12).

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love (Revelation 2:4).

We have a Call to come to Christ and live and be blessed by God!

Let us answer, Yes, Lord I am listening! Praise God!

Words are powerful! We either speak blessings or curses!

Which will you choose the next time someone “ticks you off,” brings frustration your way; or even offers fear?

***Find safety for sure! Do all that God puts on your heart to do for your safety, because not everyone will change.

But remember to pray for those who offend us instead of reacting to the offense. Prayer is our duty; and if we don’t pray –who will?

  1. Either we maintain our steps in the fruit of the Holy Spirit –with patience and kindness (LOVE) (God is Love) … (as far as it depends on ‘me’ –in order that we can pray blessings over their life.
  2. Or, we step {out of step} with God’s Way (Jesus), and act all human and speak even more curses over a life who is already begging for spiritual prayers and blessings.

The world needs Jesus; and the world needs us to reflect who He is!

What the world needs is one more like you following Jesus!

Proverbs 16:3Amplified Bible (AMP)

Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.

May God’s Grace and Peace be with you!

Closing Prayer from Philippians 1:8-10

For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;…

In the words of Matthew Henry, Our Father God is “an infinite and eternal God, who had (has) an absolute authority over them (us), as the Father of their (our) spirits.” Emphasis mine.

God is not out to harm us (Romans 8:29-29) God is begging us to accept life and blessings (Deuteronomy 30:19 is one such reference)

John 3:16-17King James Version (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
